Facilities and Services
The departure area has ten gates, while the arrival area has six gates. forty immigration centers, forty-eight check-in centers, three customs centers, fifteen x-ray screening centers, ten aero bridges, three VIP waiting rooms, twenty-six lifts and escalators and one thousand parking spaces. Additionally, murals depicting Tamil Nadu’s customs, festivals, and culture have been painted in the new terminal. On the exterior of the new terminal, a colourful eye-catcher resembles the Srirangam Rajagopuram model tower. In a similar vein, new, cutting-edge amenities and infrastructure have been added to passenger waiting areas, arrivals, and departures.
In addition, the terminal is configured in accordance with the “GRIHA-4” standard for environmental friendliness. The airport’s roof is made to use solar energy to produce electricity. In addition, a Rs 75 crore air control room with a 42.5 metre high observation tower is being built. In this instance, it is reported that Prime Minister Modi will attend the January 2nd opening of the Trichy Airport’s new terminal.
