Trichy Airport New Terminal

The Chief Minister of Tamilnadu,  India PM Modi participated in the inauguration of the new terminal at Tiruchirappalli International Airport on Jan 2nd 2024.

At the Trichy International Airport Rs.1200 crore construction of the new terminal in 2019-Feb. On the 10th, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the event through a video presentation. The Airport Authority Group had planned to complete these works by September 2021 and make the new terminal operational.

  • 48 check-in centers
  • 3 customs centers
  • 15 x-ray screening centers 
  • 10 aero bridge facilities
  • VIP waiting rooms at 3 locations, lift and escalator at 26 locations
  • Lounges
  • Parking facilities for 1,000 cars.
  • Paintings have been drawn focusing on Tamil Nadu’s culture, tradition and festivals.
  • A model tower like the Srirangam Rajagopuram stands on the facade of the new terminal to catch the eye of onlookers
  • The terminal has been set up as ‘Griha-4’ standard for environment friendliness.
  • Besides this, an air control room with a 42.5 meter high observation tower is being constructed at a cost of Rs.75 crore.

The roof of the airport is designed to generate electricity through solar energy.
